KanKan ‘Can’t Cap’ on new single ahead of ‘Way2Geeked’

After months of anticipation, it finally looks like KanKan is gearing up to release his long-awaited upcoming album, Way2Geeked. In a now-deleted tweet from Aug. 28, the Dallas rapper revealed a Sept. 16 release date for the project, although it is now unclear if it will arrive this Friday or later this month.

However, as a means to quenching fans’ thirst for new music, KanKan delivered with the project’s lead single “Can’t Cap” on Sept. 6, accompanied by a music video directed by Brick.

“Can’t Cap” sees the Texan ride a melodic beat infused with bouncy 808s produced by Edo and 1st Class. With an instrumental similar to tracks like “14” and “see u” off of Kan’s most recent EP ##B4W2G, his laid-back flow and syrupy voice once again fits perfectly on top of the pluggnb production.

Along with the usual bars about money, fast cars, and fake friends, Kan references Yeat‘s smash hit “Money Twerk“, the sixteenth track off his 2021 album 4L.

I’ma thumb through this sh*t ’til it hurt (Yeah)

I’ma count up this money like (Count up this money like)

Yeah, I’ma count up that money, it work

I’ma go make it (I’ma go make it)

I’ma go make that shit twerk

In the visuals, Brick films Kan vibing out and flexing his bands while rocking an Arc’teryx jacket. Containing impressive transitions, the video switches from Kan in the studio to him riding an icy grey SRT.

“Can’t Cap” is a great start to the former Slayworld member’s roll-out for his forthcoming project. Hopefully, Kan will include a few more tracks on Way2Geeked that feature the smoothness he showcased on this latest single.
