Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Nas X has been quiet on social media recently, finally making his return to bring his fans some good news.

On Wednesday (March 16), the MONTERO rapper took to Twitter to announce his social media comeback, claiming his time off was due to “maternity leave.”

With pleasantries out of the way, Lil Nas wasted no time building some hype for upcoming material, teasing two new songs and asking fans to choose which one drops. Each of the new tracks has a polarizing feature, one with NBA YoungBoy and another featuring Saucy Santana.

YoungBoy has been making headlines recently due to his controversial dispute with Lil Durk and Durk’s associates regarding a disagreement involving the death of King Von.

Former City Girls makeup artist Saucy Santana made massive strides in the LGBTQ hip-hop community with his hit single “Material Girl.” Most recently, Santana saw some coverage from Rolling Stone on his viral entrance to the industry.

Along with his re-entrance to social feeds, Nas X has been previewing a slew of music as well as putting other creatives on in a barrage of TikToks. Filming a video over “WTF” by up-and-coming female songstress Lé Dorsey (formerly known as Xlovclo), it seems as though LNX’s underground inspirations are leading him to a different soundscape entirely, with each teaser showcasing different, off-kilter sonics missing from his official discography.

Addiotonally, a fan later asked Nas X if the potential track would be for a deluxe of his 2021 album MONTERO, to which he responded that his new album is close to completion.

Regardless of which track his fans choose to drop, Lil Nas X is sure to see huge numbers with his 2022 return. Given his red carpet return to the spotlight, it’s only a matter of time before we see some new music from the revolutionary rapper.
