Lil Tjay is finally returning to form.
After enduring a nearly-fatal shooting and recovering for a handful of weeks during the middle of the year, the New Yorker is looking to end 2022 with a bang. Before he hits the road for an upcoming slew of shows in December, he decided to feed his fans with his third release since the incident and second on DSPs.
On Nov. 11, Tjay dropped “Give You What You Want,” a vintage lovestruck ballad with a somber piano loop and passionate crooning.
With help on production from the “Melody God” Fridayy and Mike Wavvs, most notable for his work with Jack Harlow and KayCyy, “Give You What You Want” is another step in the right direction for Tjay working his way back to peak performance. Sandwiching the sampled, graceful “‘Til you let me give you what you want” hook, Tjay’s verses see him head over heels for a girl with another man.

As Tjay continues to establish a rhythm when it comes to releasing music, it’s still currently unknown if he plans to put out a project any time soon. But for now, listeners should be content with appreciating that Tjay has returned to full health and is back to dropping melodic masterpieces again.
