Moneybagg Yo requests 50 Cent’s aid in production of forthcoming film

Fans of Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo know his status as an unprecedented hit-maker in the industry — scoring big numbers with chart-topping tracks in “Wockesha,” “Scared Money” and his 2021 major-label debut A Gangsta’s Pain.

While streaking towards greater success in the booth, the CMG artist is now reaching into more creative “baggs.” Pitching a movie idea for If Pain Was A Person — a title inspired by a song by the same name on AGP — Moneybagg Yo’s future endeavors into film are certainly exciting.

Taking to Instagram this week (June 6) to call upon rapper-turned-mogul 50 Cent for help in the movie industry, Yo flipped through a seemingly complete script for the forthcoming flick. With it rumored to drop sometime in September, Moneybagg seems to be in the preparation stages for the actual production of the project.

It makes sense that he would reach out to 50 Cent for assistance, considering Power and BMF both received critical acclaim and established 50 as a success in the TV business. 50 even tapped Yo for a feature on “Wish Me Luck” alongside Snoop Dogg and Charlie Wilson, premiering the song on BMF.

One thing Moneybagg Yo needs no help with is his musical career, with the “Time Today” rapper seeing his numbers go up from tracks like “Rocky Road” featuring Kodak Black, as well as his NBA Finals contribution on “Big League” by Yo Gotti and CMG.

See Wat I’m Sayin” fleshed out Moneybagg’s forthcoming album rollout, with the hard-working hustler implying the release of not one, but two albums by the end of 2022. Seeing as his only prior acting and directing experience is from his vast catalog of music videos, it will be interesting to see what comes out of a feature-length film from Moneybagg.
