Despite rumors flying around, there has been little confirmation of Ye’s highly-anticipated follow-up to Donda until now.

When Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo shared a lengthy message he received from Ye asking for vocals as well as an instrumental, the Internet broke. Following the exchange, it appears the unlikely duo will be locking in for a collaboration on Donda 2, as Ye has been seen working in the studio with The Game, A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, Mike Dean and more.

Since the release of the original Donda, Ye hasn’t strayed away from the spotlight. On top of his divorce with Kim Kardashian and slew of DONDA Sunday Service performances, Ye squashed his beef with rival Drake at their “Free Larry Hoover Show” last month. Since releasing the “Heaven And Hell” music video for YZY x Gap during the CFB National Championship Game on Monday, Ye has been grinding to finish DONDA 2, or at the very least preparing to drop music.

Last week, G.O.O.D Music COO Steven Victor joined Complex to reveal plans for a Donda sequel, stating that the project was already underway. However, Ye is ALWAYS going to Ye. DONDA 2 sounds realistic in nature, but Kanye going back on his word or delaying a project for years at times is something certainly not out or the ordinary.

With a somewhat official confirmation from Moneybagg Yo’s receipts, listeners are sitting on the edges of their seats in anticipation for West’s next move.

Donda was met with fantastic reception from critics and fans alike, receiving two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year.
