NBA YoungBoy continues album streak with ‘Ma’ I Got A Family’

NBA YoungBoy just went seven-for-seven on albums this year, and he’s already eyeing his eighth.

Delivering his latest project, Ma’ I Got A Family, on Friday (Oct. 21), YB further proves his diligence and loyalty to his fans — gifting them a new record in celebration of his 23rd birthday (Oct. 20).

When it comes to YB projects, energy is the focal point, as he effortlessly skates over bayou-inspired instrumentals with his bombastic, drawled cadence. Ma’ I Got A Family, which yet again showcases YoungBoy’s mix of catchy hooks, flexible melodies and rapid-fire bars, totals in at 19 tracks and features Nicki Minaj and (surprisingly) breakout new wave star Yeat.

Amid the release of MIGAF, his label Never Broke Again also announced Never Broke Again: Nightmare on 38th St — which will be YB’s eighth full-length project of 2022. Dropping on Friday (Oct. 28), the record was rolled out by its lead single and visual titled “Searching.”

Continuing a historic year, YoungBoy has been one of the most streamed artists in the world — landing second behind none other than hip-hop icon and legend, Drake. Accumulating over 5.4 Billion total streams in 2022, these numbers aren’t a fluke or dumb luck for Youngboy. His grip on the culture has been indisputable over the past few years, proving to be a direct result of his ceaseless work ethic and cult-like fanbase.

While more polarizing than most, YB still is an iconic figure in hip-hop, regardless of recent legal issues. With an endless stream of music, colossal statistics, a ride-or-die fan-base and budding label ventures, the only thing that could stop NBA YoungBoy’s trajectory is himself.
