Polo G earns first Billboard No. 1 album with ‘Hall of Fame’

Polo G’s third studio album Hall of Fame not only has been widely regarded as his best project to date, but also will debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart — selling a total of 143,000 units in its first week.

While success has been no stranger to the Chicago native over the past two years, Hall of Fame will mark Polo’s first No. 1 album of his career thus far. He released Hall of Fame on June 11, alongside competitors in MigosCulture III and Pi’erre Bourne’s The Life of Pi’erre 5.

After earning his first Billboard No. 1 record with “RAPSTAR” in April, Polo G has continued to dominate the charts — asserting himself as one of the most prolific artists of the current wave.

Polo G Hall of Fame: What should have been a night of celebration at the Hall of Fame album release party turned into a problematic run-in with law enforcement. Amid Polo G’s projected album sales, he was arrested Friday on assumed charges of resisting arrest, battery (which is disputed by Polo’s team and mother Stacia Mac) and criminal mischief.

He was eventually released on a $19,500 bond which was posted by his mother Stacia, who took to social media to air her concerns with false information swirling from the incident.

Polo had the chance to speak out via Twitter Sunday, also commenting on his experience with the Miami PD June 11.
