Redveil drops latest visual for ‘Shoulder’ off ‘learn 2 swim’

Prince George County rapper redveil has been making a name for himself all on his own accord — relying on his own talent to garner a loyal fanbase and high-profile co-signs.

In the wake of his 2022 album, learn 2 swim, the Maryland emcee has been curating visuals for a couple of fan favorites off the project. Previously dropping the official video for “pg baby,” Veil is back to follow up on another soulful track off of his self-produced magnum opus.

“I ain’t looking over my shoulder, I keep my blood around

Keep my temperament colder, don’t need a hundred rounds

Power structure gon’ see my brother and try to gun him down

Learn to maneuver, we swimming, we never drown”

Redveil — “shoulder”

His latest visual effort for “shoulder” features singer-songwriter Mekdelawit and saxophonist Renaissance Mic, set in your average suburban home with an indie film style.

Veil and Mekdelawit pay no mind to each other as they take turns making food in the kitchen — portraying monotony, depression and nostalgia all in the span of four minutes. The melancholic track complements the imagery perfectly as Mekdelawit sings a beautiful hook before redveil performs his lyrical gymnastics.

Redveil is currently on tour with Denzel Curry, Kenny Mason, Mike Dimes and PlayThatBoiZay, continuing to bring lyrical hip-hop to the forefront of the genre.
