sgpwes feeds fans with new EP ‘brgr pck’

After already dropping two full-length projects this year luna and celestial, sgpwes is flooding fans with music — dropping off his third tape of the year, brgr pck (Sep. 1).

As a member of the new wave of SoundCloud artists, the Rochester native has been making noise with tracks such as “Surrounded” and numerous collaborations with fellow underground artists like Slump6s and Onlybino!.

brgr pck consists of hard-hitting atmospheric instrumentals that sees Wes showing off his genre-blending sound (a mix of hyper pop, plugg, and trap). On tracks such as “all black truck” and “way2lit,” Wes raps over synth-heavy instrumentals that are almost guaranteed to blow out any speaker. His classic deep and heavy flow is consistent throughout the entirety of the project. While on songs such as “gone” and “handstand,” the New York hitmaker goes for a more melodic flow with hypnotizing autotune.

Yeah, I just went up, yeah (Yeah)

I just went up, yeah (Yeah), I’m countin’ the bucks, yeah (Oh), uh

I just went up, yeah (Yeah)

We don’t give no fucks, shit, pull up in a truck (Yeah)

“gone” – sgpwes

Hardrock, Lunchbox and Onlybino! stand as the only three features on this project as Wes takes the opportunity to fully showcase his talents. sgpwes’ sound has become a defining factor of the underground class — and with this new project, he has taken this sound to a new level while continuing to drop at an impressive rate.

On brgr pck, sgpwes takes the popular genre of rage rap and makes it his own, defining his sound for new and old listeners alike. Full of energy and high-end production, brgr pck is a 10-track banger list full of potential for Rochester’s rising star.
