Rising drill stars Sha EK and PGF Nuk drop new collab “We Droppin’”

From the South Bronx to the South Side of Chicago, respective drill stars Sha EK and PGF Nuk connected this week for a new hard-hitting collab, “We Droppin’” (Aug. 5).

Over the last year, both young artists have risen through the ranks of their respective subgenres to become one of their cities’ brightest new faces. Each known for their energetic brands of drill, marked by their distinct vocals and brazen bars, Nuk joined Sha EK for the remix of his notorious “Foursevk” — one of the songs that helped launch him into the Bronx Drill spotlight

Nuk joined Sha EK on his stomping grounds in the BX for the “We Droppin’” George Buford-directed video, another classic Bronx Drill visual. Sha delivers a revamped verse from the original and dances on top of his home projects, and Nuk sounds right at home on the eerie drill production (prod by 083chee and ZK).

Interestingly, both young drillers could be considered “second wave drill stars” as Nuk follows the Chicago drill blueprint laid by artists like Chief Keef, Lil Durk and G Herbo, just as Sha and the rest of the Bronx movement have taken the Brooklyn drill sound and ran with it. Their worlds collided on a few other occasions recently, with G Herbo helping to shine a light on B-Lovee and Kay Flock and Nuk recently jumping on 26AR’s “Finish.”

As Sha EK remains consistent in picking up notable cosigns and dropping a steady stream of high-quality singles, he continues to mark his place as one of the frontrunners of the Bronx Drill wave.
