More ‘good things’ are ahead for Skaiwater

Floating on a pile of pink hoodies that resemble Cloud 9, skaiwater is cherishing the “good things” he has in front of them.

Sharing the new visual for their latest single “good things” (Sept. 15), the UK-born, NYC-based phenom continues to climb back into prominence with a pair of enchanting club cuts. Following “molli” this past August, skaiwater’s affinity for left-of-center, Jersey Club tracks is worn on their sleeve on “good things” — extending the world brought forth on his debut mixtape RAVE.

The visual entices you with quick cuts and colorful arrangements, jumping from saturated hues, black-and-white lineups and sharp shots of his crew on the steps of a brownstone in New York. Amid thumping kicks, cascading vocal samples and a cameo from midwxst, skaiwater asks one question as their vocals enchant the track: “who got money to throw?” He answers this on the drop, “good thing I got money to throw,” as the energy gets turnt to 10 when skai lets loose.

While skaiwater has had a relatively quiet year, they look to bolster past efforts like “clair” with adjacent singer-rapper midwxst along with hit tracks like “#miles,” “eyes” and “two” moving forward. Connecting with Destin Laurel for the “auto” remix in March, Skai’s connection and collaborations with Lil Nas X and Lil Uzi Vert initially vaulted them into the spotlight.

With aspirations of becoming a Drake-level artist, the London-bred multihyphenate looks to double down on their talents — contributing to PinkPantheress’ upcoming project, which is due out later this year.

Good thing you’re catching on to skaiwater now before he takes off.
