Iayze’s mind is seemingly consumed by abstract thoughts and emotions.
Stemming from his ethereal, pluggnb soundscape found on Be The Best and Red Faction, the 18-year-old crooner is as unique as it gets — truly setting himself a part with airy melodies and catchy angst-filled ad-libs.
Previously working with DotCom Nirvan for the visuals to “On The Prowl” and “Oh Lord,” the pair connected once more for Iayze’s other underground hit “C’mere” on Sunday (Jan. 23). Dropping both videos in quick succession, “C’mere” is the more braggadocious of the two, as Iayze chases down his opps and steps on them — quite literally — with his unique wordplay and at the end of the visual.
Iayze’s latest collaborations with Nirvan come off the back of his Our Generation exclusive interview, where explains the “realness” displayed in his art — speaking on substance abuse, relationships, traumatic events and his overall emotions that come from that trauma or happiness.
Staying focused on the music, he wowed listeners with his undying commitment to his craft, as the young star dropped an impressive seven projects in 2021. Accumulating over 51,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and millions of plays across SoundCloud, Iayze’s emotive pluggnb style falls in line with new wave’s best and brightest, teasing collaborations with KanKan, Slump6s, Summrs and SSGKobe. Trippie Redd is also the latest to co-sign the Texas-based rapper, climbing the ranks of hip-hop’s underground one step at a time.
Iayze is definitely one to look out for as the new year continues to take shape, steadily turning heads with a finesse and flow all his own.
