With a vibe all his own, Eem Triplin is uniquely infectious, and “FIJI” puts him further outside the box.
Acting as his first new single since “Stephanie” in January, Triplin is back with yet another off-kilter, earworming hit. Continuing to grow as an MC — locking in with GRAMMY-award winning producer DJ Dahi for his forthcoming debut album — “FIJI” is the first glimpse of Eem’s elevation and evolution from his debut EP, STILL PRETTY.
Through his distinctive rasp and soulful melodies, Triplin flows with ease on the track, which features a verse from rising R&B group Cruza (who just appeared on Vultures 2). Eem’s rather menacing, tongue-in-cheek vocals shine with double time rhymes, rapping: “Ever since she got her heart broke/Gigi never wanna see me/Outside takin’ shots/Drinkin’ Hennessy like it’s the Fiji/If you tryna take around/Baby, you could call me when you need me.”

2023 was transformative for the 23-year-old rapper-producer, marked by sold-out performances on his first-ever headlining tour, supporting roles on treks by LUCKI and longtime collaborator $NOT (who is set to share his new single “0 PERCENT” on Jan. 12) and premier festival slots at Rolling Loud Miami and Summer Smash, among others. As a 2023 OGM All-Star, Eem’s future remains immensely bright.
With a debut in tow—and “Stephanie” seemingly left in the dust—Eem Triplin starts his new era with a banger worth a double take.
