KayCyy reaches his ‘Breaking Point’ on new single

KayCyy has reached his “Breaking Point,” ringing in KaySzn ahead of his long-awaited debut album Who Is KayCyy?.

With his forthcoming project, the 25-year-old Grammy-winning rapper looks to add to his already impressive list of accolades, and his new single continues to set the bar high for what’s to come.

On “Breaking Point,” the YZY Sound artist sounds off his confident rap flow and unique vocal delivery over hugely dynamic, layered production (produced by MikeWavvs, HUBI, and Hvll) featuring a strong drumline backbone and eerie choral backing. Not only an excellent introduction to his distinct and highly-polished sound, listeners can make out some definite Ye influence and even catch a hint of Playboi Carti-esque ad-libs.

The single is accompanied by a music video directed by one of New York’s top creative minds in Hidji World, who put together a Lower East Side fever dream jam-packed with exclusive fashion and classic NYC scenes, from dimly lit nightclubs to playgrounds and from firescapes to loitering outside bodegas.

Earlier this week, KayCyy previewed the track on social media, and left a cryptic message hinting at his growing confidence and future releases: “I’ve Never Been So Sure In My Life … 10/21 … This Is The “Breaking Point!”

Since his Grammy-winning contributions to Ye’s Donda, the Kenya-born, Minnesota-bred star has made a name for himself as one of the next great artist-producer prodigies — setting the bar high for his upcoming debut after his Grammy Award win for Best Melodic Rap Performance on Ye’s “Hurricane” with Lil Baby and The Weeknd.

He followed up that win in March when he dropped his Gesaffelstein-produced 3-pack, TW20 50. Sharing his mixtape, Get Used To It, this past Junewhich features fellow experimental stars in Lancey Foux and 070 Shake — he also lent his voice to Fivio Foreign’s notable debut album B.I.B.L.E. on two of its standout tracks: “Hello” and “On God.” In July, he shared “Light The Globe (Serena) after his set at Lollapalooza where OGM caught up with the rising star on-site to ask him about the moment WIKC is creating for him.

With his unique sound and breadth of experience that already rivals most industry veterans, KayCyy’s breakthrough has even reached its breaking point.
