Atlanta’s trap prodigy Ken Car$on has been on a tear lately. His most recent debut album Project X released in July, full of potent hits like “Rock N Roll” and “Hella,” as it springboarded him past the “Carti clone” indictments and into the status of one of hip-hop’s most exciting, bubbling acts.
Now, Car$on has continued pushing forward into his next era. In between the days of Saturday (Jan. 29) and Friday (Feb. 4), Teen X released nine songs exclusively onto SoundCloud as a part of his third Lost Files — a series he has utilized in the past to drop extra songs for fans between projects. Lost Files 3 contains songs that have been made around the same time as those created for his upcoming full-length project X-Man.
Two of the nine songs include fellow Opium signee and rising Carti disciple Destroy Lonely on “murder musik” and “gang.” “gang” also contains a feature from Lil Tecca, who Ken first collaborated with in July for their SoundCloud exclusive “Patrick Ewing.”
Lost Files 1 first arrived in January 2021 with six songs, over four months after the release of his breakout project TEEN X in August 2020. His next official project Teen X : Relapsed released just weeks after Lost Files 1, also in January 2021. Next came Lost Files 2, a collection of songs that dropped on SoundCloud in early July 2021. Project X officially dropped around two weeks after that on July 23.
Following this pattern, it would be fair to assume that X-Man could be right around the corner in the next few weeks, as Lost Files 3 likely serves as a warm-up for the album.
