Pharrell enlists Tyler, The Creator, 21 Savage on ‘CASH IN, CASH OUT’

Pharrell is cashing in big on his latest star-studded effort.

Fresh off appearances on Nigo’s I Know NIGO and Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry, the multifaceted producer-rapper recruits Tyler, The Creator and 21 Savage for his new collaborative track “Cash In Cash Out” (June 10).

Over menacing, gritty production from P himself, 21 and Tyler trade high-powered verses seamlessly over the track. The Savage Mode II wordsmith glides over “Cash In Cash Out’s” bombastic beat with ease — reasserting his presence as one of hip-hop’s signature voices in recent years. Tyler’s verse is equally as “Savage” as 21’s, lacing lines about having “brand new thoughts” amid the barrage of bars both emcees bring forth.

While me, I dont’ like violence but the guns do (Ooh)

‘Cause that gorilla right there, he gon’ hunt you (Ooh)

While me and my bitch countin’ stars out the sunroof (Ooh)

And if you wanna flick up, I don’t want to (Ooh)

And if you say “No cap,” I ain’t trust you (Ooh)

Nigga, I’m the headline, you a plus one (Ooh)

Tyler, The Creator — “Cash In Cash Out”

Amid Pharrell’s “Something In The Water” festival on Juneteenth weekend in Washington D.C., he’s had a major hand in albums for Nigo, Pusha T, Jack Harlow and others this year — previously connecting with Tyler on the urgent, final banger “Come On Let’s Go” off I Know NIGO. Additionally, Tyler is coming off a career-defining year stemming from his Rap Album Of The Year Call Me If You Get Lost and its coinciding record-breaking tour.

21 Savage, on the other hand, has been relatively quiet in 2022. Offering a two-pack on New Year’s Eve, “No Debate / Big Smoke” saw Savage get back into his bag — perhaps preparing for a new project of his own this year. On top of his fiery verse on JID’s “Surround Sound,” this is Savage’s latest appearance amid a multi-month hiatus.
