Cactus Jack collides once more, as SoFaygo and Don Toliver come with “PRECISION” on their latest link-up.
Produced by Lil Tecca, “Precision” is truly a precise showcase of both rappers’ versatility as vocalists and emcees. “I knew I was gon’ be the one, I know was going to the sun,” Faygo tears off on the hook, as Don makes references to his girlfriend Kali Uchis (“Kali Uchis, I’ma stuff my face in her coochie”) and lyrically stands back-to-back with his Cactus Jack labelmate.
Tecca’s production is a highlight, and not his first solo production credit of his career. Not only crafting a slew of his own songs, but famously produced SoFaygo’s breakout hit “Knock Knock.” He and Faygo reconnect on “PRECISION” for a beat dominated by a droning synth and airy ad-libs—allowing the star power of new Jack duo to shine.
Since their collective set at Summer Smash, both Faygo and Don have entered new sonic eras. Toliver, who’s in the midst of his HARDSTONE PSYCHO vibe, ascended altogether off the back of his highest-charting project to date.
Faygo, on the other hand, is busy prepping the release of his upcoming mixtape WAR 2–telling us on site at Summer Smash of its impending arrival. Sharing his comeback track “Life So Crazy” last month, loose singles, his debut album Pink Heartz and 2023 mixtape GO+ have held fans over in the meantime.
If the forthcoming JACKBOYS 2 record mimics the energy of “PRECISION,” we’re in for a full-fledged Cactus Jack experience.
