A pair of industry veterans are back together to deliver “Hate To Say It” — the latest single from Azizi Gibson and Freddie Gibbs.
Since his late-2021 project, This is not an Album. This is a Killer Playlist Vol.1, Gibson has been consistently dropping consecutive singles, hopefully with a follow-up in mind. Tapping the Rabbit for his first effort of 2022, Gibson brings forth a luxuriously produced track with tons of character, as he and Gibbs trade verses with ease.
“Hate To Say It” has Azizi spitting over a mellow instrumental. He drops lines about his promiscuous lifestyle while name-dropping a couple of his female friends. Freddie hops in for a last minute verse, picking up the pace with rich lyrics and a quick delivery.
Freddie Gibbs was recently involved in an online feud with Gunna, who dropped his heavily-anticipated album DS4EVER this past weekend (Jan. 7). After some back-and-forth on Twitter, Freddie found himself mentioned on “poochie gown” in the form of a short yet straight-to-the-point diss.
Gibbs is also preparing to drop his long-awaited album Soul Sold Separately, with his first single, “Black Illuminati” featuring Jadakiss, dropping last November.
