Destroy Lonely asks ‘how u feel?’ in latest ‘ILCK’ visual

Destroy Lonely’s LOOK KILLA is back in action, unmasking the devious If Looks Could Kill villain in his brooding new visual for “how u feel?”.

The track, which introduced Lone’s debut album in May, has positioned itself as one of the Opium star’s best-made efforts. So much so that it earned a feature appearance in Insidious: The Red Door this past year — Lonely’s film soundtrack debut.

Continuing to flesh out the ILCK universe, “how u feel?” brings back director JMP (“NEVEREVER / FAKENGGAS,” “If Looks Could Kill”), who peels back the secret life of the LOOK KILLA with haunting cinematography and dreary coloring that feels like a horror-action Dracula spin-off.

A Victorian-era castle is the stage for Lone’s latest effort, as the first few scenes showcase the LOOK KILLA mask (which is available for purchase) hanging off the back of his closet. A trio of daring, delightful women join the 22-year-old star for dinner, who all prep for a planned hit by cleaning their weapons, speeding off on a blacked-out bike and nailing bullseyes at target practice with throwing knives.

This is just another example of Lonely’s mysterious, superstar allure as the “Future Of Music,” or so Rolling Stone put it. His attention to detail in curating an experience around a body of work takes centerstage on “how u feel?”, much as it did in his short film LOOK KILLA.

The new music video comes days after Lone’s 22nd birthday (July 30) and leads in his first-ever performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago this weekend (Aug. 4). If Looks Could Kill earned Lone his highest-charting debut of his career, netting 30,000 first-week units and nabbing a Top 20 berth on the Billboard 200. Amid his debut LP, Lone and PinkPantheress brought dark and light together on the UK songstress’ latest single “Turn Your Phone Off” — which sees Pantheress’ bubbly, twinkling soundscape mesh with the entrancing harshness of Lone’s cadence.

Alongside fellow Opium labelmates in Ken Carson (whose upcoming album A GREAT CHAOS is due out this year), Homixide Gang and the prolific Playboi Carti, the collective is set to tour for the first time together this Fall. You can purchase tickets for the ANTAGONIST TOUR here.

Cheers to the 2023 RapCaviar Rookie Of The Year, as Lone probably feels better than ever — capping a huge week with “how u feel?”.
