Destroy Lonely surprises with six new songs on ‘If Looks Could Kill (Director’s Cut)’

“Look Killa” Destroy Lonely returns right on cue, as spooky season fast approaches.

Destroy Lonely‘s official debut, If Looks Could Kill, was more than a defining moment for the Opium trendsetter this past year.

The 26-track record, which dropped this past May, has become an instant cornerstone of his discography, and now, Lone adds six tracks to the album’s fresh-pressed director’s cut.

Sharing the alt-deluxe as a surprise on Friday (Sept. 29), new additions in “Catch A Kill,” “Check The Fleet,” “Back Sippin,” “That’s My,” “Too Damn Rich” and “Spillin” all continue to capture the 22-year-old rapper’s ominous, grunge-bent aesthetic.

Highlights like “Back Sippin,” “Spillin” and the dual-wielded “Catch A Kill” are the epitome of Destroy Lonely’s stark superstar prowess — taking listeners deeper into the Look Killa lore (depicted in his brooding yet dynamic short horror film). This iteration of the album will also available on CD and vinyl, clad with two alternate cover arts that were initially teased during the ILCK rollout.

Prior to the release of ILCK director’s cut, Lone shared the visual for the album’s lead single “how u feel?” (directed by the prolific JMP) and performed for the first time ever at Lollapalooza in Chicago. If Looks Could Kill earned Lone his highest-charting debut of his career, netting 30,000 first-week units and nabbing a Top 20 berth on the Billboard 200. Shortly after, he and PinkPantheress brought dark and light together on the UK songstress’ bubbly, drum-and-bass banger “Turn Your Phone Off” in July.

Alongside fellow Opium labelmates in Ken Carson (whose upcoming album A GREAT CHAOS is due out on Friday, Oct. 13), Homixide Gang and the prolific Playboi Carti, the collective is set to tour for the first time together this Fall. You can purchase tickets for the ANTAGONIST TOUR here.
