Nothing adds to the appeal of a song quite like a COLORS Studio performance of it. Whether it’s a track that has been out or one that is awaiting release, artists usually take their talents to COLORS to enhance the fanfare surrounding it.
In the case of Doechii‘s “Stressed,” her delivering the live rendition of the cut on Oct. 10 got listeners thrilled to receive the studio version later in the week week. On Friday (Oct. 14), “Stressed” released, as Doechii continues her unmatched run of continuously impressive releases in 2022.
Adding to a year that has already given us explosive singles like “Persuasive” and its SZA remix, along with her August EP she / her / black b*tch, “Stressed” will likely land on her next full-length album, yet to be given a title or release date.

On the song, her soothing, harmonious vocals in the repetitive “I must be” hook set the stage for fiery rapping in her second verse, which was clipped and went viral following her COLORS performance.
Sabotagin’ me ’til I’m forced to rip the mask off
This lobotomy is just a reflection of the last loss
This body is in remembrance of the last lot
And this lady is too pretentious of the mascot
