Dusty Locane releases his debut album ‘UNTAMED’

Dusty Locane has now taken the next step to further prove himself as one of New York drill’s most respected acts.

On Dec. 3, Dusty released his debut studio album UNTAMED — merging his prior successful singles at the start of his career with 14 new tracks.

UNTAMED’s feature roster includes some lesser known acts, as Locane decided to prop up New York artists like Rah Swish, KG MORE BREESH, 8ANDITT and others. He also linked with rising labelmate Yung Bleu for the album’s tenth song “WHAT YOU NEED.” Dropping the visual to “BIG WOOS” on Feb. 24, the Carnarsie native pays homage to fellow Brooklyn drill sensation Pop Smoke who grew up on the same block as Dusty.

Check out Dusty Locane’s first ever project UNTAMED, as the budding drill superstar transitions from TikTok and YouTube fame to a solidified industry standing.

Dusty Locane to drop his debut album ‘UNTAMED’ Dec. 3

The moment Dusty Locane fans have been waiting months for is almost here. Ever since he broke onto the Brooklyn drill rap scene in August 2020, Dusty’s followers have been craving a project from him.

On several occasions, Locane had promised his album’s release was near, and began using the “#UNTAMED” hashtag in his Instagram posts as early as July. However, he delayed the album repeatedly, with his most recent delay being in response to Young Dolph’s death two weeks ago.

Now, we are less than a week away from UNTAMED, a 20-song, 56-minute album that will serve as an amalgamation of the tracks that helped Dusty emerge into the New York drill community, along with music he has been working on since. Six of the album’s songs are already released, including those that blew upon YouTube and TikTok to help his star rise.

It all began with “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN FREESTYLE” and its accompanying music video, which has reached 33 millions views. The song will be second on the album’s tracklist, and was the driving force behind establishing Dusty as a blossoming artist. The drill beat and Locane’s grimy, imposing voice reminded everybody of the late Pop Smoke, as he drew many comparisons. Dusty and Pop actually knew each other in their youth, growing up in the Brooklyn/Canarsie region of New York, and kept in touch up until Pop’s tragic death.

Subsequent hits like “Rolando (Caught In The Rain)” from December 2020, “RUMBLE” from April and the sequel to his first song “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN, Pt.2 (PICTURE ME)” all continued his upward trajectory, and will be included on UNTAMED.

With millions of views on YouTube, an attractive and wildly popular drill sound and a fanbase he has cultivated with hits over the last year, Dusty Locane is ready to give his fans what they have waited months for. His new album UNTAMED drops on Dec. 3.
