As Kenny Beats’ coveted YouTube series ‘THE CAVE’ embarks on its fourth (and final?) season, don’t miss each and every episode from the LOUIE maestro’s farewell tour… This story will be regularly updated.
TiaCorine (S4E4)
OH YEA! TiaCorine’s energy is so infectious it’s hard to not smiling when watching her and Kenny reconnect in THE CAVE. Previously working together on “Chaka Khan” for Tia’s last full-length album I Can’t Wait, the “FreakyT” emcee’s bubbly personality carried the entire episode — “time isn’t real” here apparently. Kenny and Tia cook up an alt-pop dance bop that even Kenny can’t resist busting a move to. In her first studio session since repairing her vocal cords, peep Tia’s performance below… we need that new album from her. Kenny and Tia did their friendship right with this banger. Was it the Ciroc? Maybe? Tia’s just that good.
Paris Texas (S4E3)
Continuing an already unforgettable year, most recently marked a performance at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw, Paris Texas graced Kenny’s CAVE with their latest album MID-AIR still fresh in fans’ minds. On THE CAVE, they take a vastly different approach, as Felix and Louie ask Kenny to craft an ASMR pluggnb fusion of old school New York sample rap. PT’s chemistry is too contagious to not crack a smile when watching them come up with their rhymes — all Kenny can do is sit back and laugh. With bars like “ I don’t have opps I make indie music,” “All my opps are emotions” and “in the cave like Osama, turn the cave to the world trade,” how could you not crack a smile?
d4vd (S4E2)
A master of raw emotion at just 18 years old, d4vd’s first-ever visit to THE CAVE was one to remember. Between conversations of cabin fever, Playboi Carti’s ad-libs and Kenny being too big to fit into any Rick Owen’s clothing, the Texas-based sensation locked in with a mission: Striving to bring THE CAVE keeper into a world of indie-soul. Kenny takes a play out of d4vd’s book — who famously crafted most of his debut EP, PETALS TO THORNS, through Bandlab on his iPhone. Recording a twangy, old guitar through his iPhone, the end result is pure magic. Amid his latest EP The Lost Petals and touring alongside SZA on her SOS Tour, d4vd’s CAVE performance is further evidence of his jaw-dropping talent. Floating over Kenny’s dreamscape rock production with melting vocals, d4vd’s a can’t-miss machine — no matter the medium.
Ski Mask The Slump God (S4E1)
Perhaps the most anticipated — and requested — appearance of all time, Kenny Beats triumphantly returned to THE CAVE with an all-time guest: Ski Mask The Slump God. Alongside his best friend DJ Scheme, Kenny and Ski cook up something with a bit of “sugar, spice and everything nice” — an amazing Powder Puff girls reference that is right up Ski’s quirky sonic alley. Usually, Kenny lets the artists drive the boat on his show, but here, the LOUIE mastermind has something already in mind — and Ski delivers with flying colors. This isn’t just an exciting teaser for what’s to come on Ski Mask’s long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s STOKELEY, but a booming start to THE CAVE’s Season 4.
