Nas, Hit-Boy continue reign with third ‘King’s Disease’ album

Neither Nas nor Hit-Boy require much of an introduction. Not only have their careers withstood the test of time, but their joint ventures have proven to be surefire classics in recent years.

Continuing their Grammy-winning album series King’s Disease with a third installation, Nas’ impeccable lyricism and Hit-Boy’s immaculate production come back as fiercely as their debut in 2020.

In the week prior to the project’s release, Nas revealed the tracklist for their highly-anticipated addition to the series. Dropping 16 tracks and a bonus, Nas and Hit diverted from the last King’s Disease by relying solely on their chemistry on this record, deciding against snagging any feature verses.

This is the first solo release the legendary Nasir Jones is gifting the game this year. Sharing the first two King’s Disease records — as well as his surprise 9-track album Magic featuring DJ Premier and A$AP Rocky — his only feature verse in 2022 came courtesy of YG, a triumphant standout off I Got Issues titled “No Weapon.”

Hit-Boy shows up on YG’s album as well, following significant contributions to projects from The Game, Kanye, Big Sean, Cordae and many more. KD3’s announcement was a long time coming too, as Hit and Nas previously alluded to the project upon the release of Magic last Christmas.

The pair have undoubtedly locked in to create yet another classic KD record. Only time will tell if they go three-for-three with this next release, however, the odds are definitely in their favor.
