The self-proclaimed King and Queen of New York have finally joined forces, as Nicki Minaj and Fivio Foreign claim their places as NYC royalty with a collaboration dedicated to their city.
Nicki enlisted Fivio on “We Go Up” (March 25) — a motivational drill track with eerie vocal samples and hectic drums. Previously set to call off the release earlier this week, Minaj backtracked after numerous requests from fans and friends to share the highly-anticipated single as a loosie.
Fivio and Nicki introduce the track by monologuing their success before the Queen hops on to spit over the ominous instrumental. After two vicious verses, Fivio gets in his zone for a high-quality contribution — keeping his hot streak alive since Kanye West’s “Off The Grid.”
“I’m ’bout to make you regret you chose me as an enemy, bitch
Southside Jamaica, we mobbin’ them bricks, so pull up with the blicks
Some of the best shooters out of New York, they don’t play with the Knicks (Ayo)
That ain’t Fivio Foreign, that’s Barbie new foreign, bitch”

Fivio led in 2022 by collaborating with Ye, Alicia Keys, Quavo and others, adding to his list of notable co-signs off the back of his debut album B.I.B.L.E. Meanwhile, Nicki’s 2022 began with back-to-back releases with Lil Baby followed by “Blick Blick” with Coi Leray.
With both rappers slated to drop albums this year, New York is going to have plenty of quality material coming soon. Though this track won’t be ending up on either project, it still gives an inkling of what energy we can expect from both star-powered rappers.
Whether or not fans agree with their claims of rap royalty, both artists have the track record to back up their talk — and on “We Go Up,” they prove it all over again.
