Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby release second collaborative single ‘Bussin’

At the end of the music video for “Do We Have A Problem?” — the show-stopping single by Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby — the duo teased another collaboration they kept in the vault. Packed with volatile bars between the two, the “Bussin” snippet had fans excited for Nicki to put out the song as soon as possible.

It seems that a week is all fans had to wait, as Minaj and the 4PF captain dropped “Bussin” on Friday (Feb. 11).

“Bussin” is less boisterous or eventful than “Do We Have A Problem?,” but rather a smooth rapping exhibition by the duo that further establishes their chemistry. For each of the three verses on the song, Nicki and Baby go back-and-forth spitting bars at some capacity, whether it be a Minaj-heavy verse or a Lil Baby-heavy verse.

Nicki employs an auto-tuned, composed flow similar to her rapping on her 2018 hit with 6ix9ineFEFE,” while Baby sticks to his bread and butter with upbeat, energetic verses revolving around his luxury cars and trips to Paris and Mykonos.

Ass and thighs, that’s where I’m thick at

Told his ex she ain’t gettin’ that d*ck back

I call Baby, “Yo, where that stick at?”

Tell that boy come get his shit back

If they act up, we gon’ fix that

My new n***a ain’t with that chit-chat

You know, you ain’t gettin’ your bitch back

Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby unite on ‘Do We Have A Problem?’

In recent years, Nicki Minaj has been tapped into hip-hop’s newest generation, organizing star-studded collaborations for single releases. Whether it be 2020’s “What That Speed Bout!?” with NBA YoungBoy, BIA‘s “Whole Lotta Money” remix or her multiple notable songs with 6ix9ine, Nicki has been linking up with some elite rising talent.

To kick off 2022, rap’s Barbie is back at it again, dropping her brand new single “Do We Have A Problem?,” featuring the game’s crowned prince Lil Baby, on Feb. 4.

Over the slick production from Papi Yerr, famed for his work with Tory Lanez, Nicki opens the track with an auto-tuned, melodic chorus where she shouts out fellow New Yorker Fivio Foreign and asserts how she may not start beefs, but she will end them in a hurry.

Little bad foreign bitch, word to Fivio

N****s know the vibe, that’s word to Five, yo

Beef, we ’bout to resolve, yo

Pull up on a opp, do we have a problem?

Nicki’s opening verse sees her introduce a versatile flow containing cadence switches, sung portions and overall dynamic, intimidating bars, proving she can still rap with the best that hip-hop has to offer. Highlights from this portion also include shoutouts to fallen icons like Juice WRLD and Pop Smoke.

Hmm, hold up, shorty, hold up, bitch

Please, don’t touch me, look at my fit

Look at my ankle, look at my wrist

This one a pack, this one a brick

That one a opp, that one a lick

This one for Pop, this one for Juice

I am the one, bitch, you a deuce (Brr)

Lil Baby’s subsequent verse continues to demonstrate why he is the most coveted feature artist in all of music at the moment. With his passionate drawl, Baby explains how he surrounds himself with the right people and how well he can please the women in his life.

I play the game to win, I’m not losin’

Opps know my address, I’m not movin’

Brodie know to take it to trial, they gotta prove it

She get what she want when we screwin’

I’m on point, I know what I’m doin’

Way too smart to act like I’m stupid

I get my advice from Mike Rubin

I’m not by myself, my whole crew lit

The visuals for “Do We Have A Problem?” see Nicki and Baby hatch up a scheme as New York mobsters alongside Joseph Sikora, actor from 50 Cent‘s STARZ show Power.

Lasting over nine minutes, the essential short film features stunning visuals and a neat story about Nicki’s cunning plan to compromise federal agents.

Towards the end of the video, Nicki and Baby teased a separate, unreleased track they recorded, which Minaj mentioned on Twitter that she could potentially release next week.

“Do We Have A Problem?” could not have been a stronger start to the new year for Nicki, as she looks to continue her dominance with future “Pink Friday” releases.
