NLE Choppa to drop ‘Me vs. Me’ project on Friday after several delays
Since NLE Choppa broke out with the first rendition of his viral hit “Shotta Flow” in 2019, he dropped at least one project per year. 2021’s release was intended to be Me vs. Me, which he announced in early November.
Originally, the tape was supposed to come out on Dec. 17, but was soon pushed back a month later to 2022 with a new date of Jan. 21. Throughout this entire rollout process, NLE was continuously giving his fans promotional singles to stave off their hunger.
However, when the time for Me vs. Me‘s release came, NLE decided he needed another week to drop. Fans speculated this additional delay happened because he did not want to drop on the same night as NBA YoungBoy‘s mixtape, considering they are in a newfound beef. NLE decided to take the high road in response to this, avoiding adding fuel to the fire.
Was going to drop a freestyle today but I see now everything I say or drop is going to be received by fans, blogs, and peers as a diss. #MeVsMe next Friday on my heart itself love y’all 💜

But now, it is NLE’s time to shine. Me vs. Me will finally release on Friday (Jan. 28), including 16 songs and lasting 53 minutes. Aside from singles that saw him collaborate with Moneybagg Yo and Polo G, the mixtape contains features from Young Thug and G Herbo.
Choppa began releasing singles for Me vs. Me in August with “Mmm Hmm,” and his most recent drop, which is the project’s sixth single, came with Jan. 14’s “Too Hot” with Moneybagg Yo.
It will be interesting to see how NLE Choppa’s sound has evolved since his 2020 campaign with debut studio album Top Shotta and his wholesome From Dark to Light mixtape.
