Post Malone set to bring upcoming ‘Twelve Carat Toothache’ tour to VR

Post Malone is bringing his “Twelve Carat Toothache Tour” to your living room, with help from Oculus VR and Meta.

After dropping his extremely successful fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache in June, Post Malone is now expanding his likeness into the metaverse.

Ahead of hitting the road for his “Twelve Carat Toothache Tour” this Fall, Malone and Meta are giving fans a chance to take in his show without leaving their homes — teaming up for an exclusive one-night only virtual concert on July 15.

Taking place in the Horizon Worlds app on Quest VR, the concert is a part of Horizon’s summer-long virtual event series titled Horizon Block Party. Malone will be kicking off the series with special appearances from The Kid LAROI, Fleet Foxes and Roddy Ricch.

“I’m pumped for the fans to have this VR experience of Twelve Carat Toothache… We put so much work into this to make it as incredible as possible. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life.”

The pre-recorded show will loop three times total at 6 p.m. PST in Venues, Horizon Worlds. It is available in the US, UK and Canada, as a 2D version will be broadcasted on Facebook Watch via Meta’s and Post Malone’s Facebook pages, as well as on Messenger and Instagram via Watch Together. The event is 18-plus and you can RSVP here.

Additionally, Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache marked the end of a three-year album drought since 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. With features from Roddy Ricch, Doja Cat, Gunna, The Weeknd and more, the album proved to be an instant hit — debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and selling over 121,000 first-week units. The forthcoming tour — which is set to kick off on Sept. 10 in Omaha and ends Nov. 15 in Los Angeles — brings along Ricch as its opener and touts 33 separate dates.

With Post Malone already dominating 2022, seeing him perform in virtual reality seems to be just another notch on his belt.
