Roddy Ricch marks return with release of new EP ‘The Big 3’

The deflation of Roddy Ricch‘s sophomore studio album LIVE LIFE FA$T last December spurned a turbulent few months for Compton’s next big thing.

Initially hoping to pivot from its lackluster reception by teasing his long-awaited mixtape Feed Tha Streets 3, Ricch hit a few bumps in the road instead. Towards the turn of 2022, he began dropping snippets of the music that would presumably land on FTS3. However, fans did not receive these previews well — stacking this slander on top of LIVE LIFE FA$T’s mixed reviews.

This continued pushback from fans would eventually influence Roddy to take some time away for himself, deactivating his social media in February.

Now, after locking in on his craft, Roddy is finally ready to turn back up this summer. On Friday (June 24), he released a new three-pack of tracks, fittingly titled The Big 3.

On Instagram earlier this week, Ricch revealed that longtime collaborator and marquee producer Mustard — who’s responsible for Roddy’s past hits in “Ballin” and “Late At Night” — contributed to the intro “Real Talk.”

Evidently, this feels like a make-or-break moment for Roddy Ricch. With fans hoping for a return to the form he held prior to LIVE LIFE FA$T, his destiny is in his own hands with these three new songs.
