Rae Sremmurd’s new album ‘SRMM4LIFE’ features Future, Young Thug

Nearly five years after the release of their triple album SR3MM, Rae Sremmurd finally share the fourth installment of their coveted SremmLife series.

Off the back of the record’s two singles in “Torpedo” and “Tanisha (Pump That)” on March 10, SRMM4LIFE sees the Ear Drummers’ brothers catapult themselves back into the spotlight. Swae Lee initially unveiled SRMM4 tracklist on March 30, which features 14 tracks and includes superstar emcees in Future and Young Thug.

Executive produced by Ear Drummers’ label boss Mike WiLL Made-It and featuring writing credits from Pharrell Williams,”Tanisha (Pump That)” is a surefire soundtrack for summertime bashes. In the track’s new visual, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi evidently showcase a new side of their sound on “Tanisha,” as the brothers join forces to bring feel-good vibes harmonizing about a special someone.

Equally catchy as it is laid-back, the pair tell the story of meeting someone in the club over the propulsive production. Slim Jxmmi provides the bars: “Ayy, I can tell you like attention just by the way you shake it, All eyes on you, go crazy.” Swae Lee sings a melodic hook: “Let’s not go back and forth, she’s what I need, Throwing it back with force, lightning speed.”

On other highlights like “Royal Flush” with Thug, “Bend Ya Knees” and “Activate” with Future, the energy the pair is still as cool and carefree as their Black Beatles era. While continue to craft the upbeat bangers that have brought them major acclaim, both Swae and Slim admit that people don’t “understand Rae Sremmurd,” looking to offer greater insight into who they are as people and artists.

“The world doesn’t understand Rae Sremmurd to the fullest right now. We only put out three albums so that was like our introduction. We’re definitely getting deeper into who we are and giving them more of us — and giving them more of our personal life in our music.”

Rae Sremmurd to Complex

Rae Sremmurd’s first two albums, SremmLife and SremmLife 2, are both RIAA-certified Platinum as SR3MM currently holds Gold honors. Swae and Slim dropped a series of tracks in 2022 to lead-in SRMM4LIFE including “Denial” and “Torpedo.”

For the first time in seven years, fans can also catch Rae Sremmurd perform at Coachella this month. They haven’t toured since 2016-2017, and will also join Post Malone overseas on the European leg of his “Twelve Carat Tour” on April 22.
