Houston-based artist Vory has slowly amassed a sneaky good discography of high-profile collaborations with Kanye West, Drake, Jay-Z, Beyoncé and many more.
While his 2020 self-titled album brought in features from Meek Mill, BEAM, Starrah and Landstrip Chip, it ultimately foreshadowed the three immaculate guest verses he gifted to Ye’s Donda last summer — one of which being the GRAMMY-winning “Jonah” alongside Lil Durk. Now, it looks like Vory is rolling out his response to last year’s success with a new solo project, dropping its lead single with Nav and BLEU on Friday (May 13).
“Do Not Disturb” details Vory’s experience with a toxic relationship as he tries to avoid conflict with expensive trips and gifts with his guilt. Nav and Bleu match the crooner’s energy perfectly as their autotuned frustration is backed by hard-hitting 808s and a mellow guitar melody.
“How I’m under thirty and made thirty, thirty times?
How you do my dirty and play victim blows my mind
I was scarred from issues, you said it would heal in time
Tryna hide your past up in the dark, but caught my body to the light’
Vory — “Do Not Disturb”
This marks the first single off Vory’s upcoming album, Lost Souls, which is set to feature Ye, Gunna, BEAM and more. With plenty of star-studded collabs coming soon from Vory, Lost Souls looks to lift the YZY-co-signed rapper to new heights. With no official release date announced as of yet, Vory is on “Do Not Disturb” until further notice.
