Portland rising star Yeat was arguably the breakout artist of the year in 2021.
His remarkable performance on Billboard-charting album Up 2 Më brought in multiple TikTok trends, millions of new fans and some impressive co-signs from today’s biggest stars in Drake, Trippie Redd and more.
Yeat not only looks to carry over his momentum into 2022, but looks to double down on it with his upcoming album 2 Alivë — shaping up to be one of the most highly-anticipated projects of the year thus far. Now, the 21-year-old begins to slightly tease fans with just a small portion of the tracklist for “2 Alivë.”
Although fans didn’t receive the full tracklist they expected, there’s some confirmation that the project will consist of at least nine tracks and that his teased track “OUTSIDE” will feature Atlanta legend, Young Thug. Another YSL member that’s caught wind of Yeat’s sound is Gunna, as the two also have a collaboration finished stemming from the Portland rapper’s IG live.
All three albums Yeat released in 2021 consisted of 20-plus tracks, so it would come at no surprise if 2 Alivë featured a similar output.
Although Yeat has not yet announced an official release date for the project, we do know that it is set to arrive sometime this month — perhaps sometime close to his birthday on Feb. 26. He also is set to link up with Coke Bennett for a coveted Lyrical Lemonade visual for the album — asserting his rise to mainstream acclaim even more so.
While Yeat’s albums aren’t known for containing many features — which is evident in his previous projects — fans remain optimistic that 2 Alivë will be filled with top-of-the-line guest and ground-breaking sounds that will continue to set the tone in the new wave.
