Zacari is in ‘Bliss’ with Isaiah Rashad on new single

TDE has been a force to be reckoned with in 2022 as every artist on the label is taking their fair share of the limelight.

Off the back of SZA’s deluxe to CTRL, Doechii’s recent signing and XXL placement and Kendrick Lamar’s final TDE album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, the label’s Swiss Army knife Zacari has been playing support for most of the year.

Appearing on standout tracks by R&B up-and-comers Blxst and BEAM — and now preparing for a full-length drop of his own — he seems to be in a healthy headspace on “Bliss,” a light-hearted collaboration with labelmate Isaiah Rashad.

Zay and Zac both sound carefree on this record as they think about money, women and cars in the wake of a successful 2021. The TDE lyricists showcase their artistic chemistry and vibrancy yet again as Isaiah raps over the track’s classic Memphis sample before Zacari croons over a more atmospheric part of the instrumental.

“Thinkin’ ’bout money, thinkin’ ’bout hoes

I feel like I’m lucky, I feel like a star

Feel like I’m right when I know I’m wrong

Feel like the moon just might be the Sun

Total eclipse of the heart

I’m in this bitch to start

I hit the swish in the start-up

White diamond, tryna spark some”

Zacari — “Bliss”

While the Chattanooga-raised rapper hasn’t released any solo material in 2022, Rashad has been anything but silent — recently appearing on Joe Budden’s podcast to address his sex tape scandal from earlier this year.

After the success of his 2021 album The House Is Burning, he confirmed with Joe that his next album is already in progress, although he remained tight-lipped on any details. While Zacari and Zay have collaborated on a slew of records in the past, this is their first single they linked up on “Rainy Day” with Buddy last summer.
