In Eem Triplin‘s latest TikTok, he begins to keep track of all the major cosigns he’s received since his blow-up. Along with $NOT, who he has essentially been an in-house producer for the past few years, and Tyler, The Creator due to “Awkward Freestyle,” Eem has also drawn the attention of cultural icon video producer Cole Bennett.
Although he just dropped a new visual for his “If You Go” single, Eem perhaps has a new track that he could offer up for the Lyrical Lemonade video treatment. On Sept. 7, just days after previewing it on TikTok and garnering over 500,000 views, Eem released his latest single “Just Friends ?“
With the inclusion of the slowed-down, melancholic sample of Sample God‘s 2021 single “What Did I Do,” Eem employs his vintage claps on the beat that he and $NOT have grown accustomed to for a loner anthem. Delivering bars about why he has decided to friend zone a woman, Eem’s echoed vocals continue to strengthen the sound his growing fanbase has gravitated towards all year long.
You can’t be my b*tch again
You can be mine as a friend
I can’t waste time telling b*tches lies cause they gonna cry in the end
Tell one lie that’s another lie you gotta back up
Man I can’t lie I can’t stand that
“Just Friends ?” — Eem Triplin
This new cut comes on the heels of Triplin earning his fourth song with 1 million plays on Spotify in “New Jack City,” as he creeps up on 1 million monthly listeners. With superstar cosigns and streams piling up, each of Eem’s new release impresses more than the last, especially when it comes to “Just Friends ?”
