Highway is really ‘Livin Like That’ on his new EP

Highway’s Livin Like That sees him living life to the fullest, dropping off his second EP of 2022 on Friday (Nov. 11).

News of the Seattle native’s new tape came shortly after his latest drop with Nick Mira, “We Can Go” — the second track off the 5-song EP. “I Used To” introduces the project as Highway raps about his come-up over a soft euphoric instrumental produced by both xjay and Paio.

Xjay is one of Highway’s go-to producers, as his work can be heard on three out of the five tracks on Livin Like That. He is best known for producing Highway’s breakout hit, “Better Float,” which recently got a SoundCloud exclusive remix featuring Trippie Redd, “Better Float 2.”

The EP’s lead single, “No Guitar” — which dropped back in August — is a repetitive guitar-laced banger that sends listeners to a place of euphoria. While “By Myself” is a fresh cut featuring the one and only Destroy Lonely.

In true rockstar fashion, Highway and Lonely float effortlessly over the grunge-based beat produced by Alex Goldblatt and Brazzen. This duo fits seamlessly together as their sounds sonically collide almost naturally. Closing out the project with,”Life Like That,” Highway’s versatility is on full display once more — impressing with his melodic R&B flow that fans have come to know and love him for.

With a delivery full of hints of PARTYNEXTDOOR and Future, Highway defines his sound on LLT by pulling inspiration from the genres of trap and R&B in a unique fashion. He exceeded expectations by releasing his self-titled EP in June, and this project proves that his talent has only grown.

There is no doubt that Livin Like That will push Highway to the next level of his career, as 2023 is poised to be a breakout year for the Victor Victor mainstay.
