Matt Ox is ready to ‘Go’ on new single

16-year old talent Matt OX has been riding on a full tank all of 2021. Throughout the year, he has steadily been dropping singles, collaborating with up-and-coming peers and turning up in music videos almost every other week.

On Oct. 15, he added to his busy year with a new single titled “Go,” and would drop the accompanying visual three days later.

“Go” spans barely over two minutes long, as Ox explodes onto the track repeatedly shouting “Go!” at the 20-second mark. The drums and rhythmic chimes on the instrumental create a build-up that climaxes halfway through Matt’s first verse about being picky with his company.

My dreams ain’t no fantasy, I’m in peace, I let it be

My team got some tendencies, you can’t even hang with me

I don’t wanna, no, I don’t wanna hang

We are not the same, no, we are not the same

“Go” — Matt OX

Matt Ox introduces a few exciting flows on the track, from crooning slow bridges, to rattling off up-tempo bars. The song’s video perfectly encapsulates Ox’s youthful, rebellious energy as he turns up in a graffiti-filled neighborhood park and playground.

Staying relevant in this new wave of hip-hop, his unique charisma and willingness to expand his sound are why he’s slowly becoming an enigma in his own right. Linking up with some of the genre’s most exciting, rising artists like Prentiss, Lancey Foux, KA$HDAMI, TyFontaine and video director DotCom Nirvan doesn’t hurt his stock either.

Overall, “Go” is a fun, infectious cut that fits nicely into Matt Ox’s growing catalog.
