“Big 14” himself Trippie Redd has finally emerged from his short-lived hiatus.
Taking most of the year to focus on fleshing out his highly-anticipated album A Love Letter To You 5, Trip has seemingly shared the LP’s lead single on Friday (Aug. 5). While it’s unclear if this is ALLTY5’s first true offering, it is Redd’s first solo appearance of 2022 regardless.

Tapping high-velocity spitters in Moneybagg Yo and Offset — who is currently exploring his career outside of the Migos triad — Redd’s new track “Big 14” is as fiery and triumphant as its star-studded guests. Tapping superproducer and longtime collaborator Honorable C.N.O.T.E, the single’s cinematic synths and menacing piano progression allows Trippie’s repetitive “Big 14, bitch, yeah” hook to lead into gripping verses from all three emcees.
“Big 14” is a street anthem through and through, as Trip, Offset and Moneybagg Yo trade lines about sending “killers at your door” and “stacking and flipping the money, not selling my soul.” The incendiary production also plays off the accompanying visual’s use of flamethrowers in between shots, as the trio appear atop skyscrapers, in empty hallways and are fittingly posted in the streets.
“Brand new Wraith, it got the club look like a
ghost (Yeah)On a yacht, let’s have a toast, ’cause I’m the
goat (Yeah)I just spent like $30,000 on some clothes
(Yeah)And just made $100,000 for a show (Yeah)
With them slimes, you know them n*,
wipe your nose (Yeah)Leave his body red like Kool-Aid, man, like
Trippie Redd — “Big 14”
oh (Yeah)”
Redd has been majorly absent from the game since dropping his fourth studio album Trip At Knight last August, but has maintained his superstar presence with features on SSGKobe’s “Escape Your Love” and “American Pyscho” with Marshmello.
Additionally, Trippie’s underground tape Hate Is Dead — which also touts a DotCom Nirvan treatment for “Fire In My Heart” — has overwhelming held over fans since its release in December 2021. Prior to TAK and Hate Is Dead, the Ohio rapper dove head first into hip-hop’s pop-punk derivative with Travis Barker on NEON SHARK — the rock-inspired deluxe to Redd’s 2021 album Pegasus.
Trippie is well known for dropping multiple projects in a single year, and since it’s already late into the summer, it seems that A Love Letter To You 5 could be the lone tape Redd shares in 2022.
