All throughout 2021, rising melodic, genre-bending rapper DC The Don had been putting out singles in timely fashion. In this phase between albums, he evolved his sound and added hits to his repertoire as Donny is poised to take the next leap of his career.
On Feb. 18, DC will drop his long-awaited studio album My Own Worst 3nemy, which has been in the works since mid-2021. As a final gift to prepare his fans for the project, Donny released the album’s final promotional single “PSA” on Friday (Feb. 11).
“PSA” is a short, minute-and-a-half cut that helps paint a clearer picture of what Donny means when he refers to himself as his own worst enemy. The upbeat, feel-good banger sees him discuss indulging in drunk driving and having a surplus of women in his life.
It’s a PSA, Mr. Put That Sh*t On Nike Fitted, ayy
Mr. I Get Too Damn Fried, can’t remember shit, I’m lifted, ayy (Go)
Tryna live like a dog, I’ma gеt my get back, with my b*tches, ayy
I invited too many hoеs straight to the midnight kickback, sh*t got wicked, ayy (What? Go, go)
Opened up that voice-mail, that was a throwback
I was drunk driving in an SRT, I think that you should know that (Yeah)“PSA” — DC The Don
The visuals for “PSA” include Our Generation Music’s Emmuel Reyes, as he, Donny and their friends live it up portraying an exciting day in high school.
