Larry June sounds out of this world on ‘Spaceships on the Blade’

San Francisco native Larry June is still an unstoppable force to be reckoned with a decade into his career — blessing fans with his second project of 2022.

Spaceships on the Blade capitalizes on the surge of popularity June has seen since appearing on tracks with Joey Bada$$, Westside Gunn, Jay Worthy and more, bringing on an all-star lineup for a 20-track solo project.

With features from the Alchemist, 2 Chainz, Syd, Curren$y, Babyface Ray and more, Larry proves that his laid-back delivery only improves with time, using his leverage in the game to pull some skilled collaborators that complement his versatility.

This project is chock-full of beautiful West Coast instrumentals and mellow anthems, from the melodic banger “Brand New Machinery” to the macho energy of “Don’t Check Me,” the latter of which received a set of vivid visuals to accompany the album’s release.

Back in March, Larry presented his collaborative project with Jay Worthy and LNDN DRGS titled 2 P’z In A Pod, steadily ramping up his releases in 2022. His biggest look this year came with the release of Joey Bada$$’s highly-anticipated album 2000, appearing on the Statik Selektah-produced track “One of Us.”

Larry June has yet to disappoint in 2022, bringing forth a wave of new music with unexpected guests as he reaches the heights he deserves.
