Arguably the rap capital of the world, Atlanta breeds some of music’s brightest young stars every single year.
Artists like The Migos, Lil Baby, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty and many more come from the ATL, as up-and-coming rapper Lil PJ is catching the attention of the region’s best by staying true to himself.
PJ has been on the rise in the Atlanta hip-hop scene over the past couple of years – often collaborating with Lil Gotit and was featured on his most recent album Top Chef Gotit.
The young star in the making has accumulated over 375,000 views across his YouTube page, as his rapid success eventually flourished into a record deal with Interscope Geffen A&M Records. With zero plans of slowing down, PJ delivered a stellar new single and video titled “Buzz” to kick off the new year.
“Buzz” is PJ’s first single and video of 2022 and it is truly something special. The track sits at a little over three minutes long and showcases PJ’s versatility and unique voice filled with southern twang and a splash of Atlanta swagger. PJ’s quick flow, impressive bars and eclectic sound slightly resemble the distinct voice of Louisiana superstar NBA YoungBoy, unrelenting in vocal prowess and potency.

The paired visuals for “Buzz” calmly display PJ chilling around his house. He’s seen kicking it in a basement, sitting around a fire, and in the streets — rapping, dancing, and flexing some dough throughout.
“Buzz” is a major step in the right direction for the rising Atlanta artist. On Jan. 7 (the day PJ released “Buzz”), he sat at 21,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Fast forward just five days later and PJ shot up to 35,000 Spotify listeners — nearly double of what he had just days prior.
In addition to his latest release, Lil PJ continues tease his upcoming album Gift From God on Instagram. The project is set to release this February and features some buzzing artists such as YSL enigma Lil Keed, Chicago’s CEO Trayle and others.
As PJ looks to make a splash with his forthcoming project, the rising star settles into the game with the “Buzz” he’s looking for.
