Mozzy shares remorse on new album ‘Survivor’s Guilt’

Sacramento rapper Mozzy is back with another stacked project as the California native gathers a couple of fan-favorites to subside his Survivor’s Guilt.

Bringing along features from EST Gee, Shordie Shordie, Blxst, 42 Dugg and more, Mozzy is relentless on his latest release as he continues to represent Northern California to the fullest. His budding sound and hard-hitting lyricism further showcases Mozzy’s rise as one of hip-hop’s complete packages — complemented by contributions from a diverse cast of collaborators.

Mozzy initially led in his project with a pool party banger “In My Face” featuring an all-star crew of emcees: Saweetie, 2 Chainz and YG. On this single, each rapper spits rapid fire bars over simple yet effective production from Mustard.

Kicking off the track, YG’s hook makes a vague yet clear request for his lady friends to “put it in his face.” Between hooks, Mozzy and 2 Chainz each drop turnt up verses filled with sexual innuendos before Saweetie grabs the mic for a nasty (in a good way) verse.

“Me and Mozzy in a Maserati

With your girl in the backseat, duckin’ paparazzi

I’m the real thing, you a carbon copy

Got the mushroom with the chocolaca, boom shakalakalaka, get it, huh?

Go on a date and eat a lot of lobster

A lot of ice around my heart, it’s a shocker blocker”

The “In My Face” visuals are exactly what one would expect — a whole lot of partying and beautiful women. After all these years, it never ceases to amaze how this formula has created countless hits that have ended up on party playlists everywhere.

Mozzy made his last full-length outing in September 2021 with Untreated Trauma, bringing along a couple of newcomers like EST Gee and Kalan.FrFr for the ride. Since then, he’s signed to Yo Gotti’s coveted CMG The Label and appears on a slew of tracks off the imprint’s latest tape Gangsta Art.

Mozzy was also tapped for the compilation project Dreadlocks & Headshots and Chop Stixx & Banana Clips, combining two previous tapes into 30 tracks. Survivor’s Guilt is out now on streaming platforms, bringing fans their first new Mozzy project of 2022.
