YG, Tyga, 21 Savage, BIA ‘Run’ up their bands on new banger

While West Coast rapper YG gears up for his forthcoming unnamed album, he’s found some time to share another hit for the streets.

Off the heels of “Scared Money” with J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo, YG decided to keep this energy going with Tyga, 21 Savage and BIA, as the cash-clad posse race toward the finish on “Run.”

Keeping up his streak of money-themed singles, “Run” immediately drowns you in its dark production that later morphs into the classic West Coast bounce YG has perfected over the years. A braggadocios showing for some of the best acts in the past decade, “Run” evidently gives each superstar artist enough space to shine on their own and together. Long story short, don’t play with YG and his crew’s check.

Big digits, Chrome Heart, bitch spend it

Get with it, if I rapped it, I lived it

Big digits, whole lotta pretty bitches

No cap, not a snapback or a fitted (Ah)

Run” — YG, Tyga, 21 Savage and BIA

Even though YG hasn’t dropped a solo project since 2020 (My Life 4Hunnnid), he has kept himself busy with multiple West Coast collaborations and a slew of features to match. In March 2021, he dropped off a label tape with Day Sulan & D3szn titled 4hunnid Presents: Gang Affiliated. The project was a success in showing off what his signees could accomplish — touting hard-hitting tracks that fans can’t stop coming back to. He also released a project with Mozzy (Kommunity Service) just two months later also featured in projects with Maroon 5, OhGeesy and more in 2021.

Tyga has had an extremely successful career and doesn’t look to leave it behind anytime soon. While he hasn’t released a studio project since 2019’s Legendary, he has still been working on new material. Most recently, he collaborated with Doja Cat, Coi Leray and Moneybagg Yo, respectively. He was also in line to perform at Post Malone’s Posty Fest in 2021 until it was unfortunately canceled. While the world anticipates more from Tyga, he keeps proving that only good things continue to come his way.

21 Savage is a space every artist wishes they were in: A bonafide superstar who has yet to hit his prime. A week removed from his appearance on Drake’s new album Honestly, Nevermind, 21 Savage reminds everyone on “Run” why he is currently the most sought after artist in rap. Despite not dropping an album since 2020, Savage is sitting at an impressive 30 million monthly Spotify listeners that continues to grow daily. Showing off his skills by keeping up with rappers in Drake, J. Cole, Tyler, The Creator and many more, he has grown to be a fan favorite and has been one of the most consistent wordsmiths in recent memory.

Speaking of artists on the rise, BIA wholeheartedly checks every box. Multiple mega hits? Check. Features from the biggest names in rap, such as Nicki Minaj, J. Cole and more? Absolutely. Co-sign from Rihanna? Yup. Throw in a viral TikTok sound with “Whole Lotta Money” and you get one of the most sought-after rising stars in the game. While she enters the track as a feature, her verse is powerful and leaves a lasting impact.

While “Run” may be a hodgepodge of heavy-hitters, it’s proven to be a banger that will leave fans running their bands up this summer.
