Producer-turned-rapper NEZ has been steadily expanding his solo catalogue after providing listeners with quality instrumentals for years.
Production duo Nez & Rio have been responsible for tracks by A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q, Wale, Travis Scott and more, bringing an experimental sound that inevitably results in hit records. Now, he brings forth a 3-pack EP, CLR 002, with a few hard-hitting features at his side.
Nez has been putting his list of industry contacts to use as he comes up as an artist, enlisting Flo Milli, Theophilus London, Duckwrth and more on previous singles. His latest EP, CircoLoco Records & NEZ Present CLR 002, sees his third collaboration with Q as well as additional appearances from Moodymann and Gangsta Boo.
With house-inspired production and danceable instrumentals, NEZ is able to curate various atmospheres with each track. “You Wanna?” is a club-ready love song in comparison to “Let’s Get It,” an eerie anthem with Q taking over vocals as he flexes his riches. Moodymann handles the hook for “Freaks” while NEZ and Gangsta Boo trade a couple of “freaky” verses.
This project was released in collaboration with CircoLoco Records and Rockstar Games for an upcoming GTA update. As NEZ continues to elevate his game with each release, we will continue to follow his evolution as an artist.
