By just being a young, motivated artist who inserts his bone-chilling experiences growing up in the trenches into his art, Chicago’s PGF Nuk has been a bright spot amid growing tensions surrounding street rap.
Nuk’s nasally delivery and eerie aggression have attracted the attention of some of the most prominent artists part of his sub-genre, including G Herbo, Polo G and BIG30. His latest single “Reel Em In” (Oct. 20) continues his consistent streak, giving us another ominous Chicago drill anthem.
Nuk sticks to his roots on this new track, threatening his opposition as he describes a devious scheme. His unmistakable, growling drawl adds to the dangerous atmosphere, bringing listeners in with his vivid lyricism over the bouncy instrumental. Psychedelic visuals show Nuk and company riding around the city with mind-bending cinematic effects.
“Uh, uh, fishin’ for thе opps, reel ’em in
Uh, Mooda wanna’ run up in the spot, we comin’ in
Uh, I just lost a BMW, Chase just lost a Benz
Uh, we was in a high speed, blowin’ out the trends”

This single matches the energy of his July debut album Switch Music, delivering music for young fans like him from low-class neighborhoods around the country. His movement has grown since his breakout single “Waddup” received remixes from Polo G and G Herbo, solidifying his name in his hometown’s drill scene that was popularized by Chief Keef and Lil Durk.
As he continues to hold it down for the Windy City, PGF Nuk’s fanbase grows with each drop, prepping fans for the follow-up to his first LP.
