Smino is ‘waiting on DJ Drama’ for ‘S.A.D. 2’

Three years since Smino’s pandemic tape She Already Decided dropped on SoundCloud, the smooth-flowing St. Louis emcee is coming back for seconds.

Confirming that the legendary DJ Drama will be invovled on the S.A.D. sequel, Smi led in the forthcoming tape by sharing off-the-cuff, surprise freestyles “smi myself & I” (Feb. 8) and “Wyoming (Freestyle)” (March 10) this year. With more music on the way, the rapper even revealed that a Luv 4 Rent deluxe is also coming, saying that it’s “actually a whole new album.”

“New project I let Dram do it, no Gangsta had a grill,” he flows effortlessly on “smi, myself and I,” backed by classic R&B synths and an infectious 2000s-era bounce. Alongside a behind-the-scenes visual of Smino on his “Luv Is 4Ever Tour” with JID, “Smi, myself and I” lent to Smino’s second effort “Wyoming (Freestyle)” — a groovy off-kilter cut that oozes swagger, as he speaks on coin flips that further prove his inimitable stature in the game.

She Already Decided 2, which was due out April 20 according to the “smi, myself and I” description, has still yet to be given a release date. However, with new insight from Smino, it seems closer than ever. Ahead of its sequel, She Already Decided held many memorable holdovers in “Fronto Isley,” “Chips & Juice,” “2MuchFronto” and remixes of tracks like Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” and Baby Keem‘s “Orange Soda.”

Smino’s third studio album, Luv 4 Rent, stunned fans last October and proved to be a poetic exposé on the different types of love life presents. The singer-rapper’s refined lyrical poise and slant rhyme cadences make him a pure sonic anamoly, as the 15-track LP brought on featured acts in Lil Uzi Vert, Ravyn Lenae, J. Cole, Lucky Daye, Doechii, Monte Booker and more.

It’s clear that Smino never misses, and whenever the S.A.D. 2 drops, be sure to sit back, spark up and spin it with Smi.

This story will be updated.
