With his upcoming project NVRLAST dropping on Dec. 9, Xhulooo was back to deliver the project’s lead single “freezTag” on Dec. 2.
Self-produced alongside Pooka, “freezTag” finds Xhulooo flowing over a video game-inspired instrumental effortlessly. Simply having fun on the track, the Atlanta native crafts a seamless transition from the song’s intro to its chorus with addictive ad-libs.
On the rest of the track, the 17-year-old talks about artists trying to mimic his sound, his luxury lifestyle and his popularity, as he raps, “I’m in LA and I’m cooling’ with the gang, she said she wanted me I don’t even know her name, I know some rappers that bitin’ my flow they be lame.”
In 2022, not only has the young star grown as an artist, but Xhulooo has also leveled up his crisp production skills. He cites Pharrell Williams and Pi’erre Bourne as his biggest inspirations in hopes of becoming a dynamic producer-artist.
One by one, Xhulooo’s friends and collaborators such as SoFaygo, OnlyBino!, Yung Fazo and Slump6s have all had their own come-up stories and made their way into the spotlight. Now, with Xhulooo not far behind his peers, his consistency and talent behind the mic seem to be getting stronger than ever, evident on “freezTag.”
