Three years after news of a posthumous XXXTENTACION and Juice WRLD collaboration broke, DJ Scheme revealed there’s more in store for die-hard fans.
Sharing that two new tracks from the late legends “are coming out,” the longtime friend and DJ of both X and Juice shared a screenshot of a group chat titled “Juice wrld xxx” on July 18. Despite X and Juice never meeting while alive, X’s manager Solomon Sobande confirmed the collab’s legitimacy back in November 2021, weeks before the release of Juice WRLD’s Fighting Demons.

In the three years since murmurs of a Juice WRLD-XXXTENTACION collab surfaced, the fallen icons’ estates have made it a point to keep their legacy alive through a slew of posthumous releases. Juice WRLD’s “final album” (or so Lil Bibby has stated), The Party Never Ends, has faced an onslaught of delays following the shift of its original release during the summer of 2022.
Coinciding the award-winning Into The Abyss, afterlife offerings like “Cigarettes,” “Face 2 Face,” “In My Head,” “The Light,” “Lace It” with his idol Eminem, “Doomsday” off Lyrical Lemonade’s All Is Yellow and a 5-year anniversary package of his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance have held Juice fans over in the meantime. The formerly Maxlord-headed TPNE has since changed hands to Benny Blanco, who now leads the production of the album. There’s currently no official time table for its release.
XXXTENTACION’s posthumous drops since his untimely death in 2018 include a handful of unfinished works (? Deluxe, SKINS and Bad Vibes Forever). However, recent efforts like the FADER Films-produced In His Own Words and the LOOK AT ME tribute film-album have immortalized X in a brighter light than before. Along with OG SoundCloud cuts being re-released on DSPs, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Lil Uzi Vert have also dropped tracks with the late Jahseh Onfroy over the years. Additionally, X’s killers were convicted and sentenced to life in prison in March 2023, allowing for his team to have greater focus on his legacy and unreleased music.
