Juice WRLD Day 2022: Grade A continues to ensure that ‘Legends Never Die’

Three years ago, the hip-hop community lost one of its most impactful and inspirational voices. And for the second year in a row, that same community has come together to commemorate the life and legacy of Jarad Higgins, a.k.a Juice WRLD, with Grade A’s event ensuring that Legends Never Die.

The night consisted of an array of rotating acts, from up-and-comers like SleazyWorld Go and Bankroll Hayden to Soundcloud superstars like Ski Mask the Slump God and Famous Dex. In between said acts were rounds of Juice Wrld trivia, a Mr. Beast giveaway, and suitably emotional reminders as to why we all gathered in the United Center that night.

Jarad’s mother, Carmella Wallace, gave a reflective speech regarding the life her son lived, and the humble warning to not take any day for granted. In similar fashion, all artists took time out of their segmented performance slots to speak about what Juice meant to them, and what it means to get to be part of this commemorative event.

It always felt like a celebration, but the innately humane reason we were all packed in the United Center was never lost on any of the performers. Particularly Trippie Redd, who spoke emphatically about him and Juice — and you could feel the retrospective longing between each and every word.

Other featured acts included Tana, DDG and Woo Wop, DCG Brothers, Lil Mosey, Cordae, and to close out the night was the biggest surprise guest of the evening, Lil Durk.
