NYC’s Cash Cobain and Chow Lee popped out yet again to celebrate their place on the New York Times ‘Best Albums of 2022’ with a new remix of fan-favorite “Just Blick It” featuring Bizzy Banks.
As their popular, dance-friendly alternative to the harsh sounds of Brooklyn and Bronx drill continues to gain steam with cool kids from around the city (and now well beyond), this week Cash and Chow reached across the NYC-subgenre aisle to recruit one of the original drill stars in Bizzy Banks for a remix of “Just Blick It” off their recent joint album 2 Slizzy 2 Sexy – along with one of their most lit music videos yet to remind everyone that Sexy Drill season is still upon us.
In addition to fan-favorites like “JHoliday” and “Vacant,” “Just Blick It” was one was of many standout moments off Cash Cobain and Chow Lee’s newly critically acclaimed joint project. The bouncy, lighthearted dance track is the perfect encapsulation of the Sexy Drill energy, from its infectious production (Prod by Tayriq, Reid & Kuhl) to the guys’ X-rated adlibs and downright reckless bars.
The 5th Ave-directed video shows the charismatic emerging stars in peak form surrounded by rare fashion, key members of the squad in Lonny Love and Swoosh God and girls doing their signature “blick” dance as far as the eye can see. It is also a real treat to see the normally steadfast Bizzy Banks get fully in the Slizzy spirit, adjusting his gritty Brooklyn drill flow to match their catchy cadence to add a ton of value to the remix with a slick third verse and equally savage bars.
While he’s been relatively quiet in recent times, Bizzy killed his On the Radar Freestyle earlier this year and just dropped a new single single “No Passes” last week – hopefully a signal that new music is on the way from one of East New York’s biggest drill stars.
The combined effort of Cash, Chow and Bizzy on the “Just Blick It” Remix is a definite moment for the new generation of young New York stars, and will no doubt be a staple at upcoming parties across the city. And still, it seems like the Slizzy takeover is only in its first quarter. Cash Cobain, Chow Lee and the rest of the guys no doubt have big plans for 2023, but the only thing we know for sure is that it’ll be another sexy year in NYC.
