Jeezy makes a triumphant return on ‘SNOFALL’ with DJ Drama

Atlanta legend Jeezy has been one of the busiest players in the industry for over two decades — crafting some of the most iconic projects of the blog era.

After teaming up with hip-hop tastemaker DJ Drama on “I Ain’t Gon Hold Ya,” it was an inkling that the duo would share their collaborative project Snofall in the weeks that follow — marking Jeezy’s first project in nearly two years.

Dropping the full-length record on Friday (Oct. 21) with features from EST Gee, Lil Durk and 42 Dugg, Jeezy proves he is still tapped in as he brings back some OG trap instrumentals and his unmistakably gritty voice. Sounding as successful as ever, the music mogul is also dropping a documentary about the making of his album, showcasing his pride in yet another street classic.

Though Jeezy may be less active now than in the 2000s, the Snowman hasn’t lost a step on “I Ain’t Gon Hold Ya” as he effortlessly flows over the uptempo instrumental. Visuals for the track bring a sense of nostalgia as the duo reunites outside of Magic City with a lot full of sports cars and models.

Drama and Jeezy go way back, with the legendary DJ hosting Jeezy’s first official mixtape, Trap Or Die. Over the last two decades, they have reconnected time and time again on each other’s projects as Drama continued to be Jeezy’s go-to DJ for both his mixtapes and Drama’s Quality Street Music series.

This new single comes hot on the heels of projects by OMB Peezy, Badda TD, Jim Jones and Moe Jangles, all hosted by the Philly DJ himself. On the other hand, this is the first we have heard from Jeezy this year, with his last solo release being 2020’s The Recession 2.

As both artists continue their historic careers, it has become increasingly clear that Jeezy and Drama aren’t going anywhere soon as they continue to run the game.
